As a passionate advocate for strong communities and youth development, I’ve proudly taken the Fields for Our Future pledge — because access to quality soccer facilities isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity for our growing city.
With over 30,000 kids playing soccer annually and numbers surging year over year, Calgary’s two existing indoor facilities are stretched beyond capacity. Children are training in school gyms and cramped shared spaces, while demand continues to rise. Without urgent investment, Calgary risks turning kids away from the sport they love.
The Facts:
- Participation is up 76% over the past 5 years, and continues to climb.Â
- Calgary will face a shortage of 8,000 hours of indoor field time by 2030.
- Only 2 indoor soccer facilities currently serve the entire city.
The Impacts Are Real:
- Kids miss out on proper training and game time.Â
- Growth of the sport — and the benefits that come with it — is stunted.
- Calgary is falling behind other major Canadian cities like Winnipeg and Edmonton.
Our Shared Vision:
- A marquee CMSA-owned and operated year-round facility, supported by city partnerships.Â
- Equitable and proportional access to city-owned fields for youth soccer.
- A place where our kids can grow physically, mentally, and socially — right here in our communities.
That’s why I stood proudly at the Shane Homes Soccer Centre and took the pledge — a commitment to support and advocate for investments in soccer infrastructure, including land, funding, and long-term planning.

Let’s build a Calgary where no child is turned away from the chance to play.
Let’s invest in our fields — and in our future.
