What I Stand For
-
Balanced budgets: I commit to balancing the city’s budget without raising property taxes unnecessarily.
Smart spending: I will prioritize essential services and cut wasteful expenditures. Enough with wasteful projects or ideas that only make life more expensive for Calgarians, such as a tax on plastic straws and paper bags.
Municipal tax freeze: I will advocate for a 4-year municipal tax freeze.
Civil service: I will review new employment opportunities offered by the city and positions within city hall and rationalize them based on necessity.
Transparency: As a strong believer in the importance of transparent government, I commit to providing the residents of Ward 4 with updates on city spending and ensure taxpayers know where their dollars are going.
-
Integrity first: I will advocate for stronger conflict-of-interest rules.
Open government: I will work to introduce policies to make council decisions more accessible to residents. Residents of Ward 4 and Calgarians across the city deserve to know how their representatives are advocating on their behalf.
Public engagement: I will hold regular town halls to ensure that the voices of the residents of Ward 4 are heard.
-
Support for law enforcement: I will support law enforcement by pushing for increased funding for the police and more resources for the men and women who work hard to keep Calgarians safe.
Crime prevention: I commit to partnering with local organizations to expand youth programs and mental health supports, reducing crime at its root. text goes here
-
A less bloated government: I will work to keep municipal service fees low so that municipal taxes can also remain low.
Improved recreation: I will work with community organizations to increase the number of available and inclusive activities offered to families across Ward 4, and encourage them with less municipal regulatory red tape. This will ensure unity in Ward 4’s diverse cultural base.
Efficient Services: I will work to streamline city services like permits and utilities to reduce wait times and frustrations.
-
Entrepreneurship support: Offer incentives and grants to encourage young entrepreneurs to start businesses locally.
Lower taxes: I want our youth to be able to save more of the money they make. That is why I intend on working to reduce municipal taxes, and advocate on the city’s behalf at the provincial and federal level to reduce spending at all levels of government.
Streamlined regulations: I will work to cut unnecessary red tape to make it easier for graduates and entrepreneurs to start businesses and build their careers.
Job growth through private sector: I will promote private-sector investment by fostering partnerships with businesses to bring jobs and opportunities to the city.
